Properties of Estimators — GeeksforGeeks

“Estimation is a statistical technique and Estimators are the rules or formulas that we use to calculate a guess about an unknown number based on some data. When we can’t measure or know something directly, we use an estimator to come up with a good guess. Estimators use information from a sample (a small part of a larger group) to guess about the entire group.”

Do Humans Really Have World Models? | Daniel Miessler

“You have zero control of what pops into your head. And if you just start speaking without thinking you’ll stream word tokens just like an AI.”

Examples are the best documentation | exotext

“When I’m searching for docs, 95% of the time a single example would suffice. Yet, 95% of the time I can’t find one in any official source.”

Designing agentic loops

If you want to run YOLO mode anyway, you have a few options:

  1. Run your agent in a secure sandbox that restricts the files and secrets it can access and the network connections it can make.
  2. Use someone else’s computer. That way if your agent goes rogue, there’s only so much damage they can do, including wasting someone else’s CPU cycles.
  3. Take a risk! Try to avoid exposing it to potential sources of malicious instructions and hope you catch any mistakes before they cause any damage.

Most people choose option 3.

Developing People into Problem Solvers | Gemba Academy

Allan Wade, ‘small acts of living’ and the power of resisting

“…resistance is in itself a sign that the sufferer is not powerless, still has (some) agency and is not simply going along with the perpetrator. Noticing this, and encouraging conversations about it, are part of building stories of dignity amongst horrific circumstances.”
